He married HELEN LOUISE CHILCOTE Abt. 1922 in Ohio, daughter of CYRUS CHILCOTE and DORA HITTLE. She was born April 28, 1905 in Zanesville, Muskingum County, Ohio, and died August 1972 in Coshocton, Coshocton County, Ohio.

Helen Louise's death was caused by an injury to her toe. She was diabetic and it did not heal properly, resulting in Gangrene.
When she was told she needed to have the foot removed, she refused the surgery.
Helen always gave the grand daughters a box of bath powder and the grand sons a pair of sox for Christmas.

He loved to watch Soap Opera's on television.

ii. ROBERT EUGENE (Gene) KOHL, b. May 30, 1925, Coshocton, Ohio; d. June 6, 2001, Coshocton, Ohio; m. CLARA AGNES MOBLEY, December 11, 1948, Coshocton, Ohio; b. November 13, 1926, Coshocton, Ohio; d. May 9, 1987, Coshocton, Ohio. Robert served in WW II. He smoked cigars and loved his beer. He and his wife loved to go dancing.

iii. DOROTHY LOUISE KOHL, b. October 25, 1926, Coshocton, Ohio; d. November 30, 1980, Coshocton, Ohio; m. LEONARD FREDRIC SMAILES, December 25, 1949 in Greenup, Kentucky; b. January 12, 1920, New Moscow, Ohio. Dorothy's favorite thing to do was go bowling. She liked to eat potato chips in bed (Told to us by Teresa Young.)
